About Us
The Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation was established forty years ago to raise funds to augment needed instructional programs in our district's public schools.
We do this as a volunteer, non-profit organization of community members who support excellence in education by raising funds for all students, in all schools within our Newport-Mesa school district.
I am honored to be taking over the 2023/24 school year Presidency of the Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation. I am most aware that I am following in the footsteps of caring and dedicated leadership for over 40 years.
As the new year begins, we are continuing to focus on raising funds to award directly to our innovative and dedicated teachers through our Grant to Teachers Program. Our all-volunteer Board of Directors in partnership with the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and the Assistance League of Newport-Mesa are reaching out to our community, local business, and organizations to meet our fundraising goals.
We are thankful to our loyal donors for their continued funding of this program and encourage new donors to be a part of our mission to benefit students district-wide.
Happy New Year!

I want to honor a dedicated board member who recently passed and will be missed not only by those who were fortunate to work with her on the Foundation but by the entire community. Barbara Harrington not only served the school district as a respected teacher, administrator and mentor until her retirement, but became an irreplaceable Board Member of our Foundation. She served in multiple roles as well as President. She was an amazing fundraiser for our teacher grant program due in part to her strong belief in the difference these funds would make in student education. Her legacy will encourage us all to move forward to continue her work.
A memorial grant has been established in her honor. Your donation may be directed toward her foundation grant.
